September 22nd
We spent the morning ringing at Reculver and saw 1 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 2 Sparrowhawks, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Kestrel, 1 Water Rail, 2 Green Sandpipers, 1 Snipe, 2 Kingfishers, 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 2 Green Woodpeckers, 59 Swallows W, 8 Grey Wagtails W, 3 Yellow Wagtails, 3 Pied Wagtails, 1 Tree Pipit, 111 Meadow Pipits W, 46 Jays W, 24 Long-tailed Tits, 2 Song Thrushes, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 4 Reed Warblers, 4 Blackcaps, 13 Chiffchaffs, 8 Goldcrests and 5 Goldfinches.

Later this morning Matt walked at Reculver and saw 1,000 Swallows W, 2 Chiffchaffs, 3 Reed Warblers, 2 Sand Martins, 3 House Martins, 1 Kestrel, 5 Dunlins, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Guillemot, 10 Pied Wagtails, 260 Meadow Pipits, 4 Wheatears, 1 Whinchat, 1 Siskin, 1 adult Peregrine, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 250 Black-headed Gulls, 6 Lapwings, 1 Goldcrest and 1 Firecrest.
This afternoon he walked from Chamber's Wall to Coldharbour and counted 150 Swallows, 19 House Martins, 3 Chiffchaffs, 2 Sand Martins, 157 Golden Plover, 1 Grey Heron, 8 Common Scoter, 1 Rock Pipit, 1 Grey Wagtail, 7 Redshank, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 7 Common Buzzards, 1 Marsh Harrier, 2 Kestrels and 1 Firecrest.
