May 14th
There was a significant change in the weather overnight and this morning was chilly and cloudy with a fresh E wind blowing and the threat of heavy rain this afternoon. We completed our usual walk at Chamber's Wall and then inland at Reculver and saw 17 Whitethroats, 3 Blackcaps, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Cuckoos, including the hepatic female, 10 Mallard, 8 Tufted Duck, 4 Shelduck, 10 Cormorants, 2 Oystercatchers, 1 Sandwich Tern, 1 Eider, 3 Ringed Plovers, 1 Wheatear, 12 Reed Warblers, 6 Sedge Warblers, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 2 Chiffchaffs, 1 Jay, 5 Mistle Thrushes, 2 adults and 3 juveniles, 1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Little Grebes,12 Mute Swans and 50 Sand Martins.
