June 18th
On another steamy morning we started early and ringed on the Marsh south of the railway line. We saw 1 Cuckoo, 11 Whitethroats, 5 Goldfinches, 1 Corn Bunting, 1 Marsh Harrier, 6 Sedge Warblers, 20 Reed Warblers including one ringed in Belgium and 2 Yellow Wagtails.

Birds ringed 32: Wren 6, Chiffchaff 1, Reed Warbler 11, Blue Tit 1, Sedge Warbler 3, Whitethroat 7, Great Tit 1, Dunnock 1, Blackbird 1.

    Please may I have some detailed directions for parking and exactly where to walk from the car for the best spot to view the Bishopstone Sand Martin colony and then the best spot to look for Cuckoo ?

  2. Drive down Reculver Drive and park at end, then walk down to promenade and then east to view cliffs after wooden bridge.
    Cuckoos more problematical - I had a female looking for nest to lay in this morning by seawall half way between Reculver and Coldharbour.
